Copper is my first bird ever. He is a male zebra finch. Then I got Noel a couple days before Christmas, hence her name, "Noel". She and Copper became mates and laid six eggs, four of which hatched. I kept two of the babies--one male and one female--and named them Kona and Silver. Kona is named after :devnightfury18:'s first red-tail hawk. Copper and Noel laid four more eggs, and two hatched. Those two are now my brother's, and both are males: Oliver and Rumely. My newest addition to the family is Tucker, my green cheek conure. I got him from Petco. He was in a tiny little cage with a conure that was bigger than him, and on a seed diet. It was more like he adopted me, instead of me adopting him. You know that rule when looking for parrots, "don't buy on impulse"? I didn't really buy on impulse; it was a very different feeling. Somehow I knew that Tucker and I were meant to cross paths. During the first three to four months Tucker didn't even trust me enough to step up on my hand. Now he steps up, says a few words, and even loves to cuddle.
